If Sonova can indeed sell products as Sennheisers, maybe they aren't going away. Hopefully Sonova make enough money off their existing products and can leverage their acquired technology to improve on that. Allowing them to continue selling Sennheiser products. Even if that line of products costs them money. Which it might not. Sonova haven't had to spend on the research and developement of them. Besides cosmetically more probably doesn't need to be spent. Some day Millenialls and Gen Z are going to be getting old and need hearing aids. I'd be pretty keen on Sennheiser ones. The reputation the Sennheiser name has would bring new attention to what Sonova are doing. They'd be insane to not use that. Sennheiser headphones disappearing seems quite unlikely to me. In a market that's too easily sold the shiny, selling the headphone division to a company with a vested interest in consumer audio might have been the best solution to keep the brand alive. The people want wireless, compact and full of digital features. Sennheiser would have to compromise on quality and focus on marketting to gain market share. That's just not what Sennheiser does. They want to be high end, a little exclusive and niche. It would be very difficult to justify a budget to developing analog headphones if the goal is to make money from them. If the goal was to maintain and grow brand recognition, that's a different story. That's something easily sold to the bean counters. Being that Sonova grossed 2.8 billion USD in 2020/21, I reckon they can afford to maintain the Sennheiser product line. I'd be even more likely to buy Sennheiser products if I knew the money was going to help develop hearing aids.

Their vest not lighting up would be noticed by the vast majority of those riders, regardless of age. However, the young, dumb, crotch rocket 160mph retrds well... nothing short of a few life choice altering experiences will change their approach. They just don’t care yet... they will if they survive. But until that moment... theres no point in investing time trying to change their minds or protect them from their choices. Either way, well reasoned out. Enjoyed that segment.

You are looking at the helmet the wrong way.. They are selling it for 800$ or for those who don't ride as much could pay 10$ monthly. I don't see anything wrong because just buy it for 800$. I ride motorcycles and I would simply pay 800$ once, it's a non issue. It's just a cheaper option. For people who can't afford 800$ My issue is how often can u use it? While I strongly dislike Epic and think their cash slinging about to take games and services hostage just to slice out themselves a cut of the pie is utterly toxic, I completely don't believe that the Phil Schiller quote is actually true. Apple got to being a multi-trillion dollar corporation by being predatory in literally every way imaginable. It is completely implausible that they would cut one of their most profitable revenues in less than half just because they "make too much money". After all, there's a reason why billionaires like Bobby Kotick continue to lay off employees and undercut their own business just for the sake of giving themselves hundreds of million dollar bonuses. Because, no amount of money is EVER enough.

I predict Epic / Tim Sweeny will fail to reach their goals since the free games approach is limited and flawed. They will eventually run out of games to give away. (or i'll have so many free games, i'll have no need or time to buy) Then yes people will use the store, but the traffic will be price driven and prices seem to be going up not down. So at this rate EGS will simply price itself out of the market. Why they just don't cut the margins to the bone and compete on price alone is beyond me. If I were the game developers, I'd start pushing a public open source distributed store. As an aside, the upper class is so overly wealthy often they don't really need to do the best or right thing evidently. Just look at the excessive price of v-bucks, for instance. Epic would make a lot more if the price point was more affordable. Not to mention how many players they've driven away with their ineffective Skill Based Matchmaking and the not working very well anti-cheating measures.

Of course with regards to the airbag vest, the elephant in the room is, the vest needs to be connected to the internet in order to activate and deploy. The subscription isn't the only barrier here, what if you're all paid up but simply in a no cell coverage area when you put it on but don't notice? What happens if your phone goes flat? Further, the In&Motion companion app requires access to take photos and record video, access precise location services, access approximate location services, refuse sleep state, ignore battery optimisation, run at start-up, full network access, disable screen lock... So that makes it a very that not only charges extra for the functionality but also tracks you and won't let you turn the app off.

37:00, so... anyone heard of a payment plan? Jacket cost's $800, or $800/12 for 12 months. Heck, as much as I appreciate interest-free options in those cases, you could even charge 5% interest on something like that. That way, everyone understands that the jacket costs $800, and it'll always work, but you can get it for less than $80 and start wearing it, with the understanding that you still owe the rest of the $720 by the end of the year. EDIT: 800/12=66.6666666. 66.6666666*1.05=70. So $800 up front, or 12 payments of $70. Nice round numbers that everyone likes.

This will allow them to be “retired” from the day to day of being a ceo or whatever and still have a large amount of money coming in. Maybe even more than what they give away to charity. His foundation also focuses a lot on other peoples money as well. You could say he works “for free” running a large charity organization.

On the motorcycle jacket, the subscription model is dumb. It's a subscription that doesn't need to exist, for all the reasons you go over, plus potential connectivity issues. What if it loses connection because you're an adventure motorcyclist going around the wilderness, thinking you're safe with your airbag jacket, and then you get in a crash and it doesn't deploy? What are the legal ramifications of this? Maybe it just checks before you head out, while connected to Wifi? What if 5 years into jacket ownership, the batteries for this subscription check are dead? Do you have to plug in your motorcycle jacket now? It's dumb all around. It should just be a $800 jacket with the airbags included. That said, this could be a BS marketing ploy to get everyone to talk about how dumb the susbsrciption model is, only for people to totally accept and pay the $800 all in price.
